My director gave me a great deal of trust on this project, with very little specific direction beyond a desire for theatricality and heightened physicality.

Having grown up on a farm, I drew direct inspiration from the landscapes and structures I knew well—buildings that were once solid and purposeful, but had weathered and deteriorated over time. Even in that state of decay, there is a distinct beauty and a sense of history embedded in them.

I carried that into the design through mismatched and exaggerated shapes, leaning into their irregularity to heighten the theatricality of the world.

This set was nominated for an Innovation Award for Best Set Design in 2025.
